The Stag's Arbiter
Crafted from genuine, naturally shed Dartmoor antler by master wandmaker Ralph Dunlop, this commanding 42cm wand carries the quiet authority of wild places and ancient judgement. The antler crown forks into a bold two-pronged focus, a form long revered in old English folk magic as the symbol of discernment: the point at which truth is separated from falsehood, and rightful power from mere ambition.
Beneath the crown, a turned brass node sits cradled between two rings of deep malachite green, warm as forest moss after rain. The rings are set with small floral detailing, echoes of hedge-witch tradition, where flower and root were the first grammar of magic.
The spiral shaft descends in a hand-finished lattice of interwoven diamond forms, traced through in antique gold, deep crimson, shadow-black and earthen amber, colours aligned with solar authority, blood rites, hidden knowledge, and the fertile dark of turning-year magic.
At the wand's tip, a delicate metal filigree cap spirals to a fine point, set with a single blood-red jewel, the mark, in old cunning craft, of a wand consecrated to acts of consequence. A wand that does not merely channel will, but weighs it.
Legend holds that the stag was the first arbiter of the wildwood: the creature that decided, by its presence or absence, whether a place was safe or cursed, blessed or abandoned. Wise-folk who carried forked antler staves were said to inherit something of that instinct, an ability to read the hidden truth of a situation before a word was spoken or a spell was cast.
This wand is believed to favour the discerning practitioner: one who does not act rashly, and whose magic is grounded in fairness and deep knowing. Particularly attuned to truth-finding, binding oaths, protective wards, and the settling of disputes by magical means, it is said to grow cold in the hand when its wielder acts against their own conscience.
Those who have carried The Stag's Arbiter report that difficult decisions become suddenly, inexplicably clear — as though the wand itself has already ruled.

Each wand is hand crafted by our father, Ralph Dunlop.
Now retired, he lives up in the hills of Dartmoor with his wife Pippa in their cozy cottage, overlooking the Teign Valley.
Gathering wood from his private forest, he painstakingly sands, carves and varnishes each wand by hand. Finally, he combines them with antique metals and decorations, forging them into beautiful, completely unique, works of art.
(and we couldn’t be more proud.)
